The Committee organises a security scheme comprising dog patrols by a trained security officer on a Friday and Saturday evening from 7.00pm until 3.00am. The patrols are operated by Crown Protection Services who are SIA registered. The aim of the patrols is to keep anti-social behaviour by late night visitors to the Estate to a minimum and to also hopefully act as a deterrent against opportunistic crime.
The cost of contributions is £150 per year. If we are able to attract more contributions we will be able to improve the frequency, and therefore also the effectiveness, of the patrols.
In addition the Security Email Alert List is a CPEL members-only network where local security alerts, information and warnings from other members, the police or the local Safer Neighbourhood Team are passed on to members who have subscribed. Neighbourhood Watch operates on the Estate and most roads have a co-ordinator. The co-ordinator will be a resident from your road and will be a contact point for your road only. The police let them know of any crime that has taken place in or around your road and they pass this information on to you. The Safer Neighbourhood Team also publishes a regular newsletter which is sent to co-ordinators electronically and circulated to all members of the Security Email Alert List (see above), whilst hard copies are delivered to all homes in roads where there are co-ordinators.
If you have any concerns that you would like to raise you can contact the co-ordinator who will then liaise with the police, or you can contact them directly.
Some insurance companies will offer a discount on home insurance if you are a member of your local Neighbourhood Watch Scheme.
